# What does AI code review cost for three or ten developers?

At a fixed workload, Perch's review estimate stays the same when the team grows. CodeRabbit Essentials and Greptile Pro have developer subscription floors. Greptile's review mode also changes how quickly included credits are consumed.

This example uses 100 total team pull requests per month, one review per PR, and no other account usage. Reviews are distributed as evenly as possible across the active authors. It excludes taxes, discounts and free trial credits. Matching PR counts does not imply equal analysis scope or detection quality.

| Service and assumption | 3 developers | 10 developers | What changes the bill? |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Perch: about 50¢ per mid-sized PR | About $50/month | About $50/month | Methods read, selected questions and cached checks; no developer seat fee. |
| CodeRabbit Essentials: $24/user/month, billed annually | $72 monthly equivalent | $240 monthly equivalent | Subscription floor. Eligible reviews beyond included hourly allowances cost 25¢ per reviewed file if usage-based continuation is enabled. |
| Greptile Pro: $30/seat/month | $90/month before extra credits | $300/month before extra credits | 50 credits per active author per month, not pooled; extra credits cost $1 each. Base, Plus and Apex reviews consume 1, 3 and 10 credits respectively. |

## Apply the review-credit arithmetic

For this 100-review example, Greptile Pro's three seats have 150 included credits in total and ten seats have 500. Each author has their own 50-credit allowance; it is not a shared pool. The table assumes every review uses the named mode, with no additional credit consumption or discounts.

| Greptile review mode | Credits for 100 reviews | 3-seat monthly calculation | 10-seat monthly calculation |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Base | 100 | $90 + $0 = $90 | $300 + $0 = $300 |
| Plus | 300 | $90 + 150 extra credits × $1 = $240 | $300 + $0 = $300 |
| Apex | 1,000 | $90 + 850 extra credits × $1 = $940 | $300 + 500 extra credits × $1 = $800 |

Formula: active authors × $30 + sum, for each author, of max(0, that author’s reviews × credits per review − 50) × $1. The table assumes an even workload. These are published-rate calculations, not captured invoices.

## Why can the same team review count produce a different Greptile bill?

Greptile calculates flex usage per author. For three active authors and 100 Base reviews, a 34/33/33 split costs $90. A 96/2/2 split costs $136: the busy author uses 46 extra credits while the others leave allowances unused. The same review count and seats produce different bills. ## Understand the Perch estimate

Perch's rate is 10¢ per 1,000 fresh rule checks. About 50¢ per mid-sized pull request is a rounded estimate from the captured September–October 2026 density of 34 questions per method and approximately 150 methods read. The unrounded calculation is 150 × 34 × 0.01¢ = 51¢. One hundred such reviews would be $51 before cache savings; the rounded comparison uses about $50. A smaller named-rule check has a different scope and cost. The [captured four-requirement evaluation](https://reviewbenchmarks.dev/evaluations/order-service/) records eight fresh checks across the regression and clean runs, with a rate-derived estimate kept separate from an actual billing receipt.

## Check the allowance before choosing a plan

A monthly PR count alone cannot determine CodeRabbit's final bill: review timing, eligible usage continuation and reviewed file count matter. CodeRabbit's public-repository reviews are free. Greptile offers a free one-active-developer Starter tier and qualifying open-source access. The paid team examples above use the stated Essentials and Pro plans.
